Each child receives individualized attention to help deal with his or her specific needs. While in treatment, youth receive individual, group, and family counseling, case management, and psychiatric consultation. Because they live on campus, we meet all their needs, including attendance at the ECH School or a community-based school, transportation to medical appointments, clothing and personal care items, and all meals. The length and type of intervention is determined by the severity of each child’s challenges and assessment of at-risk behaviors related to safety and functioning.

Catholic Childrens Home
Enhance the health of children and adolescents through research that may help inform healthcare practices, programs, and policies. Every Child’s Hope was founded in 1858 as an orphanage for immigrant children who lost their parents in cholera outbreaks. As the needs of St. Louis children and families have evolved over the past century and a half, our services and programs have adapted to meet those ever-changing needs. While ECH is no longer an orphanage, caring for vulnerable children is still at the heart of each program.
ECHO’s goal is to help ease the burden financially, along with brightening the child’s life during a time of crisis. Create a culture that helps teams of child health researchers work together to achieve the best results. Give Hope to the children, youth and families of ECH by supporting our mission. The goal of the Environmental influences on Child Health outcomes Program is to understand the effects of a broad range of early environmental influences on child health and development. ECHO is dedicated to both learning what factors affect child health and to finding ways to enhance it.
